Big Lottery Fund - Silver Dreams

The Silver Dreams Fund is the first of the Big Lottery Fund’s dedicated investments in older people in England, and is being delivered in association with the Daily Mail.

The aim of the fund is to “pioneer ways of working with older people that will allow them to have a much greater role in their communities”. BLF are particularly interested in proposals which help vulnerable older people cope better with the major life changes which are common in older age e.g. onset of disability, bereavement, retirement and long-term illness.

BLF are also seeking to challenge preconceptions and myths about ageing and older people – they want to “celebrate the many diverse ways that older people are contributing to and could contribute to family, community and civic life”.

Cash available: £50k - £200k for up to 30 ideas that meet the challenge.

Interested organisations should submit their idea via an online expression of interest form on the BLF website by midday on 28th October.

Finding Funding Update

Charity Fundraising Ltd is now taking bookings for its popular one-day workshop Finding Funding.  The course is ideal for anyone new to fundraising and is also suitable for anyone looking to refresh their fundraising skills.  Reflecting the changes we see in funders’ requirements and the changes happening in the wider funding market, the course content has been revised and updated to now include more detail on public sector tendering and on evaluation and monitoring.

We’ve kept the same small group format which allows participants to ask questions and exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere and the option for OCN certification of learning continues to be included. The course remains great value at just £185 fully inclusive of VAT, course materials, lunch and other refreshments

Not sure if this is right for you?  Why not give our tutor, Peter See, a call for an informal discussion?
