Social Action Fund
The Office for Civil Society has opened a £20m fund offering grants starting at £100,000 for charities, businesses and public sector bodies to run social action projects which encourage social cohesion.
There are three main themes:
• Local focus: this theme focuses on models that will encourage people to come together in their locality to support each other.
• 2012 Olympics and Paralympics legacy: Applications are therefore sought for proposals which use the games as a focus to establish sports activities that will mobilise volunteers.
• Life stages of giving: this theme focuses on increasing social action within a specific group of people including school children, Young people having completed National Citizen Service,
Proposals should have evidence of impact that can be scaled and replicated. Grants will be awarded primarily to fund revenue costs. All applications must arrive by 12 noon Wednesday 2 November 2011.
