Finding Funding Training:

Purpose

Aimed at smaller charities or projects in larger organisations, this workshop is for those with some experience of management in the charity and community sector, but who may not necessarily have undertaken any formal learning. Delivered to small groups, this one-day workshop is interactive and will encourage participants to consider their own projects and ideas as case studies. Learn how to identify potential funders, how to make better applications for funding and acquire knowledge and techniques that can be used in running your project or charity.

Writing a Business Plan

A business plan should be more than support for a funding bid. It is part of managing your project or charity. This session will look at why a business plan is necessary; its advantages; what should it contain; who should contribute and how to get it written.

Understanding your Costs

Go beyond the obvious costs of salaries, materials and expenses. Look at the “hidden” costs of running a project and learn how to recover them.

Risk Management

Learn a simple approach that will allow you to write a risk management plan with no more than pen & paper. Another valuable component of good management.

Sources of Funding

De-mystify the jargon of funds & funders. Find out about the sources of funding and how to choose which is appropriate to you. Look at the research tools available to enable you to find possible funders for your work and how to refine that list to applications with a good chance of success.

What makes a good application?

What do funders look for in a good application? Learn the techniques of attracting funders to read your bid.

Participants’ Projects

Your chance to “sell” your proposals to a friendly panel who will offer advice and support.

Nurturing Funders

Having successfully found funders, keep them! Learn how to build a lasting relationship with funders and other supporters.

Costs and Booking

The cost is £85 per person including lunch(INCLUSIVE of VAT). For further details and booking information, please visit our Finding Funding page.
